Join us in the mountains of Pennsylvania for Jason’s very first in-person Magia retreat in North America! This all-inclusive and immersive event will focus on the Magia teachings, led by Jason Mendel of A Lamp in the Underworld. You will leave with the ability to apply the Magia practices & teachings in your day-to-day life.

Note: This event has limited availability. If you plan to join us, we recommend that you not wait to submit your registration. A wait list will be maintained if spots fill. 

Registration Fees & Deposit Schedule

Location: Oak Lodge, Stahlstown, PA

Retreat fee: $3,600
First Deposit $1,800: Upon registration submission
Second Deposit $1,800: December 30, 2026

  • Your fee includes: complete hotel costs, breakfast, lunch, dinner, daily coffee & tea service, all in-room amenities, parking (if you are driving)
  • Your fee does not include: alcohol, snacks, transportation to and from the lodge 
  • All rooms at Oak Lodge are single occupancy with king beds. Double occupancy is not available.

Cancellation Policy: All deposits include a non-refundable $400 due to up-front costs of booking the retreat venue. No refunds will be processed after December 31, 2026.

Wait list: Due to venue size, space for this retreat is limited to 23 spots. It is strongly recommended that you register as soon as possible to secure your spot. Once rooms have sold-out, a waitlist will be maintained. Anyone on the wait list will be notified if a spot opens.

Requirements for Taking Part

You will need a copy of the Magia book, a journal, and prayer beads. All levels of familiarity with the practices are welcome. However, it is recommended that you are at least familiar with the Magia book prior to arrival. There are no additional pre-requisites to attend. 

Travel & Hotel

Arrival: After 3 PM on Monday, February 15*

Departure: By 11 AM on Monday, February 22

Airport Transportation
Oak Lodge is approximately 90 minutes from the Pittsburgh International Airport. If you require transportation to and from the airport, please indicate so on your registration form. Once we have a better idea of needs, we will organize shared options and pricing.

Ride Share
Uber/Lyft one way from Pittsburgh International Airport can range anywhere from $130-$200 one way depending upon time of day and car size. Return service using Uber/Lyft would need to be pre-scheduled since these services are not as reliable in Stahlstown. 

Driving
For those driving, we strongly recommend bringing an all-wheel-drive vehicle since some roads are steep, and Pennsylvania weather at this time of year can be unpredictable. Ample parking is available and is included in your registration fee. 

*If you need to arrive earlier than this, please let Sara know. Also, if you would like to extend your stay earlier or later than the retreat week, please contact the hotel directly to arrange accommodations. Nights outside of the retreat will be subject to the publicly posted room rates. 

Attendee Information

Discord
Upon completion of your registration, you will be sent a link to join the retreat discord. While this is optional, it is strongly recommended that you join. It will give you a chance to get to know your fellow attendees ahead of time as well as see additional announcements about the retreat as we get closer to the event. 

What to Pack
In addition to your Magia book, journal, and prayer beads, we recommend you bring the following:

  • Hiking boots or sneakers – In addition to the many hiking trails throughout the property, there may be times where we could see snow or rain. We strongly recommend boots or at least warm water resistant shoes. 
  • Comfortable cold weather clothes – It can be cold this time of year. We recommend bringing a warm coat, hat, gloves, as well as sweaters/sweatshirts. 
  • Bathing suit (optional) –  You read that right! Oak Lodge has an indoor year-round heated pool and hot tub area. No one will be required to swim, but during free time, we may have some optional activities in the pool area. Please bring your suit if you would like to utilize these facilities. If the weather is nice, there will also be a lake we can visit. 
  • Snacks & alcohol – There will be a limited supply of snacks, wine, and beer for purchase onsite at the lodge. However, if you would like any additional food or beverage outside of the breakfast, lunch and dinners provided, please bring it with you. All units will have a microwave and refrigerator. No alcohol will be provided as part of the retreat. 

Weather
Pennsylvania weather can be unpredictable this time of year. However, based on averages, we will have cold winter weather with an average high temperature of about 38°F (3.3°C) and an average low temperature of about 23°F (-5°C). It is possible that we will be outside in t-shirts sitting comfortably in the sun, or we may be enjoying the serenity of a snow covered mountain vista. When we get closer to the event, we will send out an “Know Before You Go” email that provides a more accurate forecast for the week. 

General Need to Know Information

  • Bears – They will likely be hibernating at this time, but occasionally wake and wander. Black bears have been known to open doors. Please keep your room locked, even when you are inside. Please put away all food securely. 
  • Steep hills – Oak Lodge has some mild to moderate incline walking paths. In the event of inclement weather or if someone is unable to walk the paths between the cabins and the main lodge, we will have SUVs circling to make sure everyone gets where they need to be safely. 
  • Housekeeping – Oak Lodge is a bed & breakfast style resort. Turndown service will not be provided each day. However, if you require new linens, trash collection, etc., you will be able to request assistance onsite. 
  • Spa – There is a spa onsite. Once we know the retreat schedule, you may book this as an optional activity onsite.
